Tamper-resistant Prescription Pad Requirement for Medicaid Prescriptions
Beginning April 1, 2008, health-care providers are required to use tamper-resistant paper when writing prescriptions for patients with Medicaid coverage. This regulation applies to all written prescriptions submitted for payment through the Vendor Drug Program, with the exception of prescriptions sent to a pharmacy via telephone, fax, or electronic means.

Get Your NPI Now
For many years, the federal government has promised that all health care providers will someday have one identifying number that they can use for all purposes. That day is finally here. All large health plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, must exclusively begin using the National Provider Identifier (NPI) by May 23, 2007. If you are going to continue to bill those programs after that date, you must use your NPI.
